What is Counselling?

Counselling provides a safe place for you to explore your thoughts and feelings with the full attention of a counsellor who is trained to listen to your story. They will help you begin to understand yourself better and see things in a new light, enabling you to cope better with the life situations you face   It is about change – changing from the old ways of thinking and operating – and it is about beginning to draw on strengths you did not know you had. Above all, it is confidential and non-judgemental.

Who needs counselling?

We all face difficulties and challenges at times in our lives, and counselling can be beneficial at such times. It is particularly helpful for those of us who recognise the importance of life as a journey, and the need to understand our inner world as part of the journey.

Counselling at All Saints

Here at All Saints, our counsellors are trained and qualified to at least Diploma level and give their time to this service free of charge. Our counsellors are bound by ASCS standards and policies, and receive regular, clinical supervision. See ‘Our Counsellors‘ to find about more about who we are and what we offer.

Our counsellors are not only fully qualified but are also Christians. This means that the spiritual dimension is respected in people of all faiths or none. The sorts of issues we can help with are listed here.
